Who We Are
Babaza Foundation Trust (BFT) was established in February 2003 by the late Dr. Syed Aqa Zafir, a retired WHO Regional Director who was committed to serving underprivileged communities through provision of healthcare and primary education.
Despite Dr. Zafir’s passing away in August 2004, his noble mission lives on through the dedication of the Trustees, ensuring that his vision continues to positively impact those in need.
Following Dr. Zafir’s demise, Sayyed Irtiza Husain assumed the role of Chairman and under his leadership and started a primary school and clinic at a rented premise in Korangi.
In 2012, BFT purchased a plot for a purpose built school in Zaman Town, Korangi, where a school were established in 2014. Over the years the Foundation expanded its reach by establishing two additional clinics and three water filtration plants (WFP) across different localities of Korangi providing essential healthcare and clean drinking water to the community.
Presently, BFT operates a purpose-built school, primary healthcare centre and two Water Filtration Plants, all of which are accessible to the public free of cost. The Foundation remains dedicated to its mission of serving marginalized communities and thus improving their quality of life.
